Hello List! I'm on the hunt again. I came across some very intriguing information that I didn't know about one of my Wright lines. Apparently Charley P. Wright shot and killed his sister-in-law Sophia Hatmaker in June 1932. After her death, Mattie Hatmaker, her sister, took in her daughter Mary Ann and raised her (Mary Ann later married a Jesse Roderick). I am hoping someone has access to the June 1932 newspaper and could maybe look up the incident to verify this information. Sophia had been married twice so her married name could be either Crabtree or Higgins according to the family tree I'd found. I checked for the death certificate in my Campbell books and she wasn't listed. Any help would be deeply appreciated! A Wright Researcher : Primarily Campbell County, Tennessee
Thank you for posting this -- you beat me to it. Blanche was my grand aunt, and a very special person. She came into this world and left it on the same day. Unfortunately, we didn't get the opportunity to celebrate her last birthday with her before she went home to be with the Lord. Aunt Blanche touched the lives of everyone who met her. She was so sweet that you couldn't help but love her -- and we all do...very much. Her passing leaves a big void in all our lives. Kristi Cox Dayton, OH

Thanks, I'm keeping an open mind. How hard that would have been, just a baby herself. Helen
I have no additional information on your family, but don't rule out the fact that Rachel may have been married before age 16. My grandmother was born in 1899 and married at age 12, had a baby, divorced and was remarried by age 16 to her second husband. So it is a possibility. ----Original Message Follows---- From: SHOKE2253@aol.com Reply-To: TNCAMPBE-L@rootsweb.com To: TNCAMPBE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNCAMPBE-L] James CHITWOOD Martha WHITE Family Date: Fri, 28 May 2004 22:33:44 EDT I'm going to cross post this to Scott and Campbell Co, TN and Whitley Co, KY I am looking for someone that has researched the James CHITWOOD Martha WHITE Family or the HAMBY Family.
