    1. Area Questions
    2. I was wondering if anyone has heard of and can tell me where the Walker and Stockville areas are in Campbell Co, TN? I know where Fincastle and Well Springs are. I think they should be near these. Also, does anyone know anything about the State Hopsital in Knoxville, now called Lakeshore Mental Health Institute? I know that in 1886, East Tennessee Hospital for the Insane (now Lakeshore Mental Health Institute) opened in Knoxville with the transfer of 99 patients from the Nashville hospital. How does one go about getting any records from there? Thank you for any help you can give me. Helen

    1. Kincaid Cain Family
    2. I am getting together with one of the Headstone companies in LaFollette to see how much it would take to replace the headstone of Nancy Elizabeth Kincaid Cain. She was married to John Franklin Cain and daughter of William Harrison and Susan Wilson Kincaid. Her headstone has been broke into several piece and most likely cannot be repaired. She is in the Bob Miller Cemetery along with her Husband and his family. If you would like to donate to help cover the cost of replacing her stone, please let me know. If you would like to see a picture of it and the shape it is in, please feel free to ask. I will email it to you. I know there are several Kincaid, Cain and Wilson researchers that are family members out there that would love to help replace this for the family. Let me know if you are interested and I will tell you where to send your donations or when to expect to help replace it before winter sets in. Helen L Smith Hoke

    1. Onit From The Oak Ridger 21 Jul 2004
    2. From The Oak Ridger 21 Jul 2004 Joseph Lewin, formerly of Oak Ridge, has died in Florida. Born Feb. 9, 1921, in Leningrad, Russia, he was the son of Samuel and Anna Lewin. His only brother, Arthur, was born in 1925. The family moved to Riga, Latvia in 1928 and came to the United States in 1929, settling in Whitestone, N.Y. Mr. Lewin attended Peter Cooper Institute, also known as Cooper Union, from 1939 to 1941. He volunteered for the Army Air Corps in 1942 and began his service in England in September 1943 as an aircraft mechanic and gunner. He met his wife, Suzanne Mellan O'Rourke, soon after arriving in England. The couple was married Nov. 18, 1944, and Mr. Lewin left the Air Force in August of 1945 and returned to the United States. He enrolled at Cooper Union, where graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
