Hi! Is there anyone that could do a look-up for me on a death or obituary record on Jacob Thomas born abt. 1780 who died in Bradley Co., about 1855? Or check on a Will? He was married to Margaret Elizabeth Neiman and had a son Wilson Thomas living nearby. District 7 in 1850. I guess even a deed of some kind may help. Wilson born 1815 was still alive in 1880, 63 years old on 1850 census. Wilson was first married to Tresa Wetson? Then by 1880 is married to Sarah Schoat. I don't know when he died. I need to "prove up" Wilson's father was Jacob. Jacob was living with his daughter Katherine Thomas Waller in the 1850 Bradley Co., Census. Any assist would be greatly appreciated!! Been a while since I posted..so here goes.. I am researching the following names and locations: Barns-Roane Co Buchanan-Polk Co Howell- Hamilton, McMinn, Polk, & Roane Co Womack- Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, & Polk Co Sarah Barns married Pleasant Howell in 1845, Roane Co., Tn. The family is listed on the 1850 & 1860 Roane Co Census, but Sarah & children are in Polk Co by 1870, without Pleasant. Rumor says he died in Civil War, but I have no proof of that. I have been unable to find anything on him after 1860, but there were several other children born to Sarah, so I assume he was alive until at least 1865. Pleasant's mother was Lavinia/Vina/ Viney Howell. Maiden name may have also been Howell. Who are her parents, who is the father to Pleasant?? Who are Sarah Barns' parents?Any help on this line would be appreciated. I am willing to share the information I have. Amanda J Howell, daughter of Pleasant & Sarah, married Issac Buchanan before 1870. They are listed on the 1880 Polk County, TN census..Where did they go from there? One of Amanda's brother's, Pleasant B Howell ended up in Eufala, Ok... Possibly Amanda did too, but I haven't found her yet. I have lots of Womack info, especially from 1797 to the present, which I am glad to share. The Womack line married into the Howell line mentioned above. Thank You, Connie Other surnames I am researching: MOREE, DAVIS, SUNDERLAND, THOMPSON, NICHOLSON, & others..

Hi everyone, This is my John Thompson THOMAS' born 1846 died 1931 in Chattanooga, brother's family. If you recognize someone I would love to hear from you. John and Emanuel's father's name was Wilson THOMAS born about 1816-17? In 1920 Bradley Co., TN Census: THOMAS, Emmuel (Emanuel) Vol. 3 E.D. 16 Street 1 Line 45 White - Age 53 Bradley Co. Cleveland 3619 Ocoee Street THOMAS, Mary C. wife, age 50 Born in TN. THOMAS, Lana daughter, age 27 Born in TN. THOMAS, Merand son, age 14 Born in TN. GERREW, Swininn F. Father-in-law age 72 Born in North Carolina RAPIER, Mattie daughter, age 32 Born in TN RAPIER, Mart T. granddaughter age 11 Born in TN RAPIER, Barney granddaughter age 9 Born in TN RAPIER, Thomas L. grandson age 2 8/12 Born in TN Looks like one extended family. Swininn could be an A or a G.....difficult to read. I am still trying to find Wilson THOMAS' first wife. His second wife's name was Sarah. At least I think Sarah was his second wife. She was born in 1836 per census records, too young to be John T. Thomas' mother unless she lied bigtime about her age. I believe Wilson died in Bradley Co. sometime after 1880. Still searching.
