Hi Cathy, Sorry, this message was sent to the POLK Co. list. I forgot to forward same info to BRADLEY Co. list. My ancestor was A. H. PARKS who was in Bradley Co. in 1850. In the 1850 census he was listed as a blacksmith. According the the census, his wife's name was Martha, and his children were Henry J., Robert L., John W. and Susan. According to the 1850 census, A. H. PARKS was 33 years old, which would make his birthdate circa 1817. His wife Martha is listed as 23 years old. My G-grandmother was his daughter Mary who was born in 1857. She married David G. Cooper. So far, the 1850 census is the only year that I have seen A. H. PARKS listed. Mary PARKS COOPER lived there until her death in 1890 and her brother Henry J. PARKS lived there until after 1900. In later census records, Henry is listed as blacksmith. He must have carried on his father's trade. Lorrie, No problem with the name mix-up. At least we have some dialog going on for PARKS in Polk and Bradley Co's. Several years ago I received Sumner Co. marriage information on Hamilton PARKS and Martha BEASLEY (30 Sept 1830). Don't know if this is my A. H. PARKS listed in BRADLEY Co in 1850, but the names and marriage date shows promise. Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but initials A. H. ... could he have been named after Alexander Hamilton?? Well, so much for genealogical speculation. Thanks again for your response. Greetings To All: After a hard fought battle that lasted only seconds, I have emerged as the winner of the TNBRADLE Mail List over Connie and Cathy. It is hard to lose when both of your opponents make sure you don't lose. Many thanks to Connie for her continued effort on the list and to Cathy for her continued work on the Bradley Co Web Page. If you have any questions and or suggestions about the mail list please direct them to me at noelm@xplorenet.com. I am also working with Cathy on the Web Page. If you havn't visited the web page lately, check it out and see what is new. You can find it at: http://www.tngenweb.org/bradley Several things are in the process of being added to the Web Page. One thought, If you are requesting information via this mail list, you might also consider posting a Query on the Web Page. That way you will cover all bases. Not everyone going to the web page subscribes to the mail list, even though they should!! Cheers to all, Noel Matthews noelm@xplorenet.com
