Does anyone know what information one can expect to find on a marriage document from Blount County? Would i find the name of the parents? Both parties appear to be over age 21. My one experience, with the Kentucky Historical Society gave the name of the father of my GG Grandmother as she was underage and he gave consent. I was told, normally in that time(1819) there was usually nothing more than that appearing in the indexed marriage books. So that was a rewarding experience. I am searching for the parents of: William King FARMER and Rebecca WILSON, who wed in Blount County 2jan1818. There is conflicting family opinion as to which brother was the father of William King FARMER. Both were sons of Joseph FARMER & Mary HENBY. The brother options: John FARMER b. abt 1757, Nc., d. 6jun1850 Tn., wed to Elizabeth PHILLIPS. Or Nathan FARMER b. 13feb1768 Nc., d. 24apr1849, Tn. wed to Mary Elizabeth GARNER.
