Looking for information on William Rankin Yearout. William was born October 27, 1818 in Blount County. Married May 22, 1856 to Myra McCully. I am trying to find out if William may have had a previous marraige as he was living next door to his parents, John and Martha Yearout in the 1860 census. With John age 65 and martha age 62 there was a 12 year old girl named Edney. Considering the age of John and Martha, Edney was too young to have been their daughter, and was wondering if perhaps William may not be the father, especially since he lived next door. Also, considering the marraige date of William and Myra, it is unlikely that Myra was the mother of Edney. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I am sure at this point that my Great Grandmother does link to John and Martha, but by which child? It appears to be through William Rankin Yearout, but I can't be sure. This is my direct line I am seeking and I would greatly appreciate any ideas, links or hints on how to find the correct information. I do have the family of Edna, according to the LDS site the entire family is located under William Rankin, which I know to be incorrect. Edna was mother to Calvin, Lemuel, William, Harriet, Robert, Mary Alice and Lily, not William Rankin as the site shows. The site leaves Edna out completly here, but she did exist, I have all kinds of records which prove her existence. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Thanks so much, Elizabeth
