    2. GENERAL AFFIDAVIT For the testimony of EMPLOYERS or NEAR NEIGHBORS of soldier, (other than relatives) who have known him before his enlistment, or since his discharge and return from the army. State of Tennessee, County of Blount, ss. In the matter of the application for pension of LINCH WEBB. ON THIS 26" day of November A. D. 1888; personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths THOMAS YEAROUT aged 66 years, a resident of Ellejoy in the County of Blount and State of Tennessee whose Post Office address is Ellejoy Tennessee and well known to me to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn, declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: That he has been well and personally acquainted with Claimant for 50 years, and that "he has known him ever since he was a boy worked with him and for him he was a stout able boddied man until he joined the army. have lived near him ever since the man except four years that he was in Texas when he came home from the war he had piles and has them yet and many had have saw him at various tims have been with him where he would have to stop and put them back saw the blood run from him." He further declares that he has no interest in said case and is not concerned in its prosecution. WILLIAM THOMAS THOMAS (X) YEAROUT P. R. NOTE. - The witnesses, if not themselves equal to the task of drawing the affidavits, should go to some Notary Public, Justice of the Peace, or other officer or competent person, and have the blank filled out and properly executed. STATE OF Tennessee, COUNTY OF Blount, ss: Sworn to and subscribed before me this day by the above-named affiant, and I certify that I read said affidavit to said affiant and acquainted him with its contents before he executed the same. I further certify that I am in nowise interested in said case, nor am I concerned in its prosecution; and that said affiant is personally known to me and that he is a credible person J. G. NORTON Justice of the Peace I, BEN CUNNINGHAM, Clerk of the County Court in and for aforesaid County and State, do certify that J. G. Norton, Esq., who has signed his name to the foregoing declaration and affidavit was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace in and for said County and State, duly commissioned and sworn; that all his official acts are entitled to full faith and credit, and that his signature thereunto is genuine.
