Queet, Thank you for re-posting the responses you received. Martin Rorex of Blount County was the guardian of my John Boring b.c1805-1809 (married Rachel Murray) and some of his siblings. Administration of the estate of Absolem Boren dec'd granted to James Wisehart who entered into bond with approved security and was qualified accordingly. Administration of the estate of Amos Boren, dec'd granted to Ann Boren. p. 431 A list of sales of the estate of Absolem Boreen, dec'd, filed. Amos Boring and Ann Hiles (Hoyles, from Lincoln Co., NC?) had just been married in 1814 and could not be the parents of John. Absolom could be John Boring's father; John had a son named Absalom. *1817 April 15. Blount County Marriage. Boren, Elizabeth to Samuel Farr by George Snider, M.G. *1818 March, Blount County, TN, Minutes of Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions, p. 557. Ordered by Court that Martin ROREX be appointed guardian to Ezekial, John, Fanny and Patsy Boring who entered into bond agreeably to law. This Boring family lived on Crooked Creek, at the foot of Chilhowee Mountain. So did Martin Rorex. *1818 Blount County Deed Book 2, pp. 236-237. John Black, William Black, Abigal Black and Uriah Black, all heirs of Samuel Black, dec'd, to Richard Dearmond, for $800, 164 acres on waters of Crooked Creek part of Grant #2552 to heirs of Samuel Black, adjoining Martain ROREX, Henry Thomas and the Widow Thomas, Robert Gault. Signed: William Black by his attorney in fact John Balck, Abigail (X) Black, Uriah Black. Witnesses: Martain ROREX, Abram Wallace (J. K. Thomas, Blount County, Tennessee Deeds, 1819-1833, Heritage Books, Bowie, MD, 1993) There were other Borings that are likely siblings to John Boring, namely Elizabeth Boring (married Samuel Farr), Rev. James E. Boring, Nicholas Boren, and Isaac Preston Boring. The first three would have been of majority age when the above Absolom died. By virtue of an act of the General Assembly passed at Knoxville on 5 November 1817 empowering her to sell such part of the real estate of West Elliot as may be necessary for the payment of debts and in consideration of $150 paid by ROREX in discharge of a debt due from the estate to the state of Tennessee, 73 acres on waters of Crooked Creek, adjoining Black's original grant, Wallace, Henry Thomas' original grant, corner to a ten acre piece of said Grant sold by Henry Thomas, the original Grant to Jacob Nimon, being a part of the tract originally granted by Tennessee to Henry Thomas and sold by him to West Elliott. Will Wallace, Sheriff, to Thomas Elliott, 100 acres on waters of Crooked Creek, adjoining Henry Long, David Cupp, and others. Public sale 1 February 1838 at which Daniel D. Foute became the purchaser for $15, to satisfy judgment issued by Circuit Court of Blount County on 20 November 1833 in favor of the State of Tennessee against Jacob Elliott. Thomas Elliott, being the son of Jacob Elliott, came forward on 29 December 1835 and claimed the right and privilege to redeem the land according to law by paying the full of amount of Foute's bid with ten percent interest together with the balance that was due and owing, amounting to the sum of $62.13. Land was part of Grant #829 to Henry Thomas, adjoining Jacob Niman and David Cupp, Margaret Thomas, Black Hus, Martin ROREX, Henry Long..."I sell and convey all all the right that Sarah Elliott had in the tract...at the time was levied upon...and do warrant against the right or claim of Sarah Elliott."
