Someone inquired about Bastardy Bonds at one time. I don't know if Blount County had them but I have found them in Jackson County, NC. A woman who was pregnant and unmarried had to go before the court and name the father. The father then was called into court and made to agree to support the unborn child if he could be judged to be the actual father. This was so the county would not have to support the child.
