Does anyone know if it is possible to trace land records from 1840s? I have a printout from a book, "Blount County, Tennessee, Deeds 1819-1833". It list a piece of land which was transferred to Harrison Boling on 29 Oct, 1835. The transfer was by William Gamble and William Wilson to settle the debt to Andrew Peery. Said Andrew Peery approved the transfer and agreed to wait an additional 11 months for his money (I assume that Harrison agreed to pay the debt for the land.) Harrison Boling died circa 1842/43. Andrew Peery and a witness to the sale, Thomas McKenry were two of his executors. I would like to know the disposition of the land. It is described as 2 acres on waters of Little River and Ellejoy Creek, beginning near the spring of John F. Garner, crossing the great road. I know Harrison's widow went to VA after his death, so she must not have kept the land. If anyone can find out what happened to the land, I would be most appreciative. I believe that Andrew Peery was a relative of Harrison's wife, Matilda. In marriage records for one of their sons, Matilda is listed as Matilda Perry Boling. Perry is a common misspelling of Peery. Harrison Boling is my BRICK WALL and I would appreciate any clues from whatever source. Thanks! Dear Friends, I am also interested in tracing land records in Blount County. The County Clerks office in Maryville seems to have complete records, but my special interest is in locating a land grant on the ground and I have not been able to do this even after extensive search.
