Hi folks, Your going to have to read a SOB story. We got about 4 inches of snow over the weekend followed with freezing rain and sleet. The weather is supposed to stay close to freezing for the rest of the week. There is another big storm scheduled for next weekend, or so I have heard. Last month I orderd a new wall oven for my kitchen. Paid cash in advance. Last friday it came from the factory to the dealer. Yesterday my local installer went to Knoxville and picked it up and brought it to my house yesterday afternoon to install it. Yesterday morning I went to my doctor for a second installment of a complete and thorough physical. Had my blood work done a couple of weeks ago and everything is within reasonable limits for a person my age (chlorestal and such). Had an EKG, Chest X-ray and peed in the bottle yesterday morning. Most uncomfortable was the prostate exam, but he said it was normal. He listened to my heart, breathing, etc. then he had to scare me half to death by scheduleing me into the cadriac unit in Oak Ridge today for a echogram of the two arteries going up to my brain. Then on 1 february he has me scheduled to go back to the Cardiac unit for a visit with a Cardiologist and get setup for a stress test of my heart. My doctor likes to scare me. He (and I) want to know how much my heart has been damaged by this heart trouble that I have. He also wants to know how much blockage (plaque) there is in the heart arteries. On the way home I stopped at an ATM machine to get three hundred dollars from my bank account. The machine went through the motions but gave me no money. I then had to backtrack to the credit union to get myself $300 and report the problem. I know from the way they acted that they thought I was lieing. The machine charged my account but delivered no cash. Now 600 dollars has been withdrawn from my account but I only got 300. They promised to investigate. Then yesterday in the afternoon the installer arrived with the new oven. It has two doors, both black glass front's. The top large door glass was broken in shipment and the broken glass scratched the bottom door glass. Now I have to wait for two new doors to be shipped and installed. I went today and had the echogram done on my neck. On the way home we had a near flat tire. Never knew it was so difficult to find a place that had air for your tires. This evening while Judy was cooking dinner the furnace quit. After hours but I found a service man. He come and did an inspection and told me the igniter was burned out. There was nothing he could do until tomorrow when he could get to a parts place and get a new igniter. The tempature outside is 28 degrees and going down to about 12 degrees tonight. Started calling other service men. Found one that had a new igniter. He came and installed it and now I am back in business. Cant take the stress like I used to. My blood pressure is up and I am a nervous wreck. Just took two 0.5 mg zanex to make me relax. I will have to wait until tomorrow to try to follow all the mail. I have to go back to Dr. Googe (my eye Doctor) tomorrow afternoon to have this bad eye checked out. I can tell that a catarac is developing, so I know that another eye operation is in the works. Wouldnt be surpriseed if he wants to do it thursday. Jacksonville Florida and the Tennessee professional football teams played sunday in the final playoff's before the superbowl. At halftime when Jacksonville was ahead, Erin (my 13 year old grand-daughter) e-mailed me and wanted to bet me $50 dollars on the game. She was sure her Jacksonville team was going to win since she knew Tennessee was judged an 8 point underdog by the professionals. She wanted to make some money for her school trip to Washington. Needless to say, she now owes me $50. I sent her the $50 anyway. I know that I will be back up and running before long, so dont stop writing.
