Sherry, Sorry, I can't help, however the name HASTON is possibly a form of HEISTAND, HESTAND HISTAND HASTIND HASTIN HESTON and more variations. Henry HEISTAND(a Mennonite) came from Zurich Switzerland to Pa. in the early 1700s, then settled in Page County Va.. He and his issue had large families and while the most common variation is HESTAND, I have seen several of the others. Keep in mind, in the 1700-1800s very few people were literate and pronounced their name to enummerators & others, who had to make a phonetic guess as to the spelling. In sum while searching, "keep an eye out" for phonetic variations of HESTAND. My HESTAND & one brother changed to HASTINGS. Jim Adams Montanan2@att.net
