Does anyone know anything about the Jeremiah Foster who married Polly Rhea on March 8, 1825? Is he one of the missing sons of George Foster of Franklin Co., Tennessee? On some old family papers there is the phrase, "Kingston, Tennessee" written very neatly as though someone were practicing their penmanship. I never gave it much thought, but now I wonder. I see that Kingston is very near Blount County. I also see that according to a DAR file there was a marriage at some point between a Perez Dickinson and a Lucinda Foster. I know that George Foster also had a daughter named Lucinda who we have lost track of. Does anyone know when this marriage took place?
Can anyone help with any of the following? I am also interested in any siblings of Samuel or Speed Campbell. SPARKS, Amanda married Charles FISHER on abt AUG-1845 MUCK, (MOOK) John, married Theresa CURTIS. Also looking for information on the marriage of Speed CAMPBELL & Ellen (Hutchinson) or HUDGINS. abt 1880 or before. Samuel CAMPBELL married Ann SPARKS abt OCT1901 Thank you for your time, any help would be appreciated. any info would help. Janet
Looking for information on William Rankin Yearout. William was born October 27, 1818 in Blount County. Married May 22, 1856 to Myra McCully. I am trying to find out if William may have had a previous marraige as he was living next door to his parents, John and Martha Yearout in the 1860 census. With John age 65 and martha age 62 there was a 12 year old girl named Edney. Considering the age of John and Martha, Edney was too young to have been their daughter, and was wondering if perhaps William may not be the father, especially since he lived next door. Also, considering the marraige date of William and Myra, it is unlikely that Myra was the mother of Edney. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I am sure at this point that my Great Grandmother does link to John and Martha, but by which child? It appears to be through William Rankin Yearout, but I can't be sure. This is my direct line I am seeking and I would greatly appreciate any ideas, links or hints on how to find the correct information. I do have the family of Edna, according to the LDS site the entire family is located under William Rankin, which I know to be incorrect. Edna was mother to Calvin, Lemuel, William, Harriet, Robert, Mary Alice and Lily, not William Rankin as the site shows. The site leaves Edna out completly here, but she did exist, I have all kinds of records which prove her existence. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Thanks so much, Elizabeth
To all the listmembers who have inquiries about the Yearout family - I have a copy of the picture taken at the Yearouts' 100th anniversary reunion. My great aunt, who has one of the originals, was able to identify a few of the people in the picture, which was taken around 1918. The people she identified are as follows: Harold Frow, Thelma Ross, Alberta Frow, Helen Coulter, Sam or David Yearout, Joe Lamon, Isaac McCulley, Nancy (McReynolds) McCulley, Mrs. J.C. (Eliza?) Ross (Thelma's mother), Rev. Edwin W. Hall, Pearl Yearout, Cora Howard Yearout, Jim Ross, Lon Ross, Myrtle Logan Edmondson, Hattie McCulley Chandler, Effie Hamil Sterling, Mrs. E.W. Hall, Jennie Frow, Carrie Frow, Jack Frow, Maggie (Logan) Ammons There are MANY others she couldn't name. This picture is featured in the Aug 10, 1978 Maryville-Alcoa Times. The accompanying article tells of some of the Yearout history. If anyone is interested, e-mail me and I'll transcribe the article for you, or if you'd like a copy of the photo from my copy I'll be glad to have it done for you. I don't have a scanner, but a friend of mine does, so let me know if anyone would like to see it. Cyndy Miller

Charlotte, Abrams Creek is the stream that runs west through Cades Cove and empties into the Little Tennessee River about a mile east of Chilhowee. You can find this feature on the Calderwood USGS 7.5' map or on a Smoky Mountain National Park trail map. This is not near Rockford. My ancestors settled not too far from Rockford. I understand there was a mill on Little River near Rockford, that brought electricity to the area much earlier than it would have been otherwise. In the records of my Blount Co. ancestors I found a reference to "Abrams Creek in the Chilhowee Valley." Can someone tell me where this is? Is it near Rockford? Apparently there was a cotton mill in that area (or village) owned by an Englishman, whose name is unknown to me. My ancestor, John Barker, migrated from England around 1851 with this man and worked as a turner making bobbins in the cotton mill. If anyone has any information about the cotton mill or the Englishman who owned it, I would enjoy hearing about that, too. Charlotte
