I am interested in hearing from anyone that info on John Kidd, born probably in mid 1830s. He married Mary Joiner. His father might possibly be Lewis Kidd. Thank you for your help, Janet

In the early eighteen hundreds Catherine Mattox or Maddox married Theodorick Webb. Is there a Mattox or Maddox researcher out there that has Catherine in their data base? If so please get in touch with me. Betty Webb
I was answering the super people who wrote about where to find the book and offering look ups privately but thought I should share this with the list. Also thanks again for all your help. Bushy Hi! Tennessee Cousins by Worth S. Ray is still available. You can order a copy from Barnes and Noble ( bn.com - type in the aurthor's name, Ray, Worth S. and it will take you to the site) for $28.00. Hi Everyone I am very new to this list as I just now sunscribed and I am wondering if there is anyone out there who is researching the Mulvany/Mulvaney, Underwood and Thompson Surnames. I am mainly looking for information on my Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandfather Christopher Columbus Mulvany born ca: 1795 and married Zilpha Underwood in Knox County, Tn. on March 9, 1813. She was born ca:1795 I would love to know anything about him especially. When he was born, who his parents were and if he had any siblings. I have quite a bit of later information that I would be happy to share with anyone who is also researching these families Sandy Thompson Bollhorst

Hello, I was wondering if someone could do a look up for me? I am searching for burial site for James Bevin Haddox. He went by Bevin. He would have died around 1853 I believe. Will someone look for me please? I would really appreciate it. thank you Sincerely Sherry Davis-Ellis
Some weeks ago some one posted the address to a page that was a searchable database of address. It was more than something like Yahoo People Finder or other white pages phone book type searches. I believe the person who posted it said that the information on the page was from public records and they said they were able to locate some relatives there. I went to the site but didn't have time to look too much. Now I have lost the URL. Can anyone help? Thanks HJ

The TN Gene & History Website has some old maps and information at http://web.utk.edu/~kizzer/genehist/ The TNGenWeb Project has a whole section on maps that is awesome: http://www.tngenweb.org/maps/ The primary researchers in this field are Mr. Rene Jordan and Fred Smoot. Rene is working on a book that will contain maps and descriptions of all East Tennessee county boundaries from 1770 or so to about 1860 (I think). His work has been published serially in the East TN Historical Society's journal for 7 or 8 years. Fred's work is contained in the TNGenWeb Project. Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2000 19:25:33 EST From: Werhere42@aol.com To: TNBLOUNT-L@rootsweb.com Does anyone have a site that shows Tennessee in the 1800's? Thanks so much, Elizabeth
I am a new subscriber and interested if any one could help with info re: Hedricks Chapel cemetery, Mattox cemetery, and Ware's Valley. I am looking for Hembree's buried there & especially an Edward Hembree. If anyone has any books or info on these I would really appreciate the help. Thanks, Hilda hilmar@crosstel.net
Sherry, Sorry, I can't help, however the name HASTON is possibly a form of HEISTAND, HESTAND HISTAND HASTIND HASTIN HESTON and more variations. Henry HEISTAND(a Mennonite) came from Zurich Switzerland to Pa. in the early 1700s, then settled in Page County Va.. He and his issue had large families and while the most common variation is HESTAND, I have seen several of the others. Keep in mind, in the 1700-1800s very few people were literate and pronounced their name to enummerators & others, who had to make a phonetic guess as to the spelling. In sum while searching, "keep an eye out" for phonetic variations of HESTAND. My HESTAND & one brother changed to HASTINGS. Jim Adams Montanan2@att.net
Hi Blount Co Researchers, I have an ancestor named Margaret Roddy b. 28 Sep 1785 in NC who married David Haston on 5 May 1800 in Knox Co TN. One of my cousins thinks that her father was Col James Roddy and another thinks he was Col William (Marion ?) Roddy, James' brother.I have learned that Col. William recieved land in Blount Co. for his service in the Rev War.I know that there was a Margaret Roddy born @ the same time as mine whose father was named James but she married a John Wheeler so my Margaret is another one. If anyone has any info on these people, please contact me.Thanks, Sherry ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
