I am hoping that someone can tell me who Sarah GRYDER age 9 years 4 mo. and 19 days died 6 Oct. 1928 and is buried in New Providence Church Cemetery in Blount County ( or mabey Loudon), Tennessee is or how I go about getting information on her. I think she must have been related to Lucinda GRYDER Schrimpshire because I think the grave is close by if the person that did the tombstone project. I know the GRIDER/GUIDER and GRYDER were mostly relatives of Joseph GRIDER/GUIDER/GRYDER and Ann Eliza TUCK and his second wife Harriet Jane LAMBERT. Also does anyone know the GRIDER/GUIDER/GRYDER that either worked in a store in Lenoir City. I think his name may have been Tom. I think the Sheriff of Loudon or Blount County is related to these families. Thank you for any help. Regina GRIDER Pipes regina.pipes@prodigy.net

Hello There was a town named Haddoxburg before it became London and a community spring still called Haddoxburg a watering place for wildlife. Does anyone know about this. It happened around 1880. If so does anyone have a pic of it they wouldn't mind sharing with me? Sherry
I recently posted at www.ancestry.com a file based on the privately published book "Our Hutzel Heritage" which traces descendents of Johann Georg Hutzel, many of whom settled in Blount County. I received permission from Sue Hutsell, a co-author, to post the file to make their work more readily available. Also, www.genforum.com recently added boards for both the Hutzel and Hutsell surnames. Good luck in your research. Jerry Johnson Hutsell-in-law
Dear Friends, I would like to share information about the abandonned Tedfor / Hamill/ Best / Delzell cemetery which lies about five miles south of Maryville, TN. There are still two enclosures with gravestones, and I was able, with the help of Inez Burns and Bert Garner, to locate the gravestone of John Delzell who died in 1807. The cemetery is located on private land and is currently used as a cow pasture. I have been there several times. Best wishes, Bob Delzell.
Looking for info on Robert CONN and Abigail HOOD. Abigail was born in 1809 in Maryville, Blount Co. TN to Nathaniel and Abigail (RAGAN) HOOD. Family records say that Abigail married Robert CONN in 1821, although she would have been only 12 at the time. Census records seem to indicate that Robert was older than Abigail, perhaps by 10 years or more. The family records state that Abigail died in Maryville in 1888 and that she had no children with Robert. Yet the census records seem to indicate that he did have children (or else he was raising relative's children). So I'm wondering if he had been married once before, perhaps in 1821 to a woman other than Abigail HOOD? Perhaps his first wife was also named Abigail? Anyway, who were Robert's parents? Did he and Abigail HOOD have children? When and where did Robert die? I appreciate any help on this. Abigail was the sister of my ancestor, Daniel Ragan HOOD, so I'd like to know about her. Thanks to each of you for the assistance. I imagine that I will be able to get copies of the obits now. If the library doesn't provide them, a funeral home in the area may have conducted the service. I have a mass mailer ready to go out tomorrow. Jeannie
