    1. ([TNBLOUNT])Sidney F. Rowlett
    2. Saidi R
    3. Greetings. I'm hoping someone might be able to guide me in the proper direction regarding information I'm after. Sidney F Rowlett was born in Blount County Tennessee in 1873 and died in 1915 at the age of 41 due to a gunshot to the back. This happened in Townsend TN. The story we've heard growing up is he was fighting with a neighbor when the neighbors father came out and shot Sidney. I'm looking for newspaper articles or periodicals that could either confirm or deny the story. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Saidi Roulette Longview Washington

    3. Tommie, Thank you very much for this information. I was aware of Mary J but thought she had probably been born in Missouri. You mention "Jeremiah's biography included Notes" - where did you find the biography? I've followed some of the Mosier/Moser families from the original immigrants but was never clear about the Leonard line. Was he related to the Adam Mosier clan? Where was his origin in Germany? Do you have a dependency of the Leonard through 3 or 4 generations. I like to follow the migrations as they spread across their new country. In response - I am a Moser from Rev. War soldier Francis Moser who passed in Monroe Co., Tennessee. Your Jeremiah is many steps and cousins from my line, but I found and logged in a bit from Charles E. Moser's Soloman Moser and Mary Ann Foust. He lists the 3 sons that you listed plus a daughter Mary J. Moser who was born about 1841 in Morgan Co., Indianapolis. He had a second wife "Rebecca" who was born about 1794 in Randolph Co., NC and died 10-16-1867 in Tarrant Co., Texas. Tobias's parents were Tobias Moser/Mosier ca 1748/49 - ca 1837 in Fountain Cnty., IN, and Nancy Meyers/Myers who passed ca 1831/33 in Orange Cnty., IN.His occupations listed are "Farmer/Minister" in the Methodist Religion. Jeremiah's biography included Notes (which are rarely listed): "Jeremiah K. Mosier migrated with the Tobias Mosier, Sr., family from NC to Orange Cnty., IN, where he became a school teacher for a few months. He then moved to Blount Cnty., TN, and still later to Newton Cnty., MO (now McDonald Cnty). In the mid-1850's, he bought land and settle3d his family on the Trinity River floodplain in eastern Tarrant Cnty., TX. Here he lived until he died shortly after the close of the so-called Civil War. His relatively modest holdings (320 acres) were located a short distance from those of the A. J. Lee family (the principal land owner in the area). "Following the close of the war, a community was established by former slaves on a small portion of the Lee plantation. It seems that the nucleus of the3 community began when a former Mosier slave named Robert Johnson married a former slave of the Lee family. Some say the couple was given (records show otherwise) 40 acres of Lee plantation land as a wedding present. Regardless of which it was, the3 community grew as other former slaves settled there. "For some reason that is lost in the mists of time, the community was named Mosier Valley. perhaps it was to honor the Reverand Mosier even though his land was located some distance (1 to 3 miles) from the community site. Otherwise, one would think it would have been named for Johnson or perhaps for the Lee family from whence came the land." I do hope that this helps! 3. Sorry I have taken so long. Do not have much to report, however this might help. I have found his second great grand daughter . The only thing I could find on him here was two law suits and a notice where his printing equip was being sold. Could not tie him in with anyone. As a last resort I looked on Ancestry for the Koehler name and hit pay dirt. Her name is Carolyn Wells. I have her your e-mail address and she will probably be contacting you. Bless you heart for this kind act. So many people would not have cared. 3. Thanks so much. Other than Williams middle name and the fact that their mother was alive in Nashville in 1952, i already had the other info. Im trying to go in the other direction. Who was Josh O. Conner's father? I did see in a census i think of 1870 a white Joshua O. Conner that was a neighbor of this Black family. I also saw William C. Conner with wife Nancy McCoy Conner both white as neighbors of this black family in 1870. Who purchased Tempa in 1855 in Blount County Tn. ??? Nancy was the daughter of Harriet Fulkerson of Lee Co. Va. Formerly of Morganton Tn. Harriet's maiden name was Scruggs gail On Jun 6, 2016 9:31 PM, "Roma Tipton via" <tnblount@rootsweb.com> wrote: > Joshua O.
