I have a 2nd gr grandfather, MEMORY THORNTON, and have been gathering info on other MS Thorntons with that name in the hope of making some more connections. Recently I obtained the Soc. Sec. application form for MEMORY WASHINGTON THORNTON. So far I have not found a connection to my family but thought I would post the info I have on Memory W. in case it is of interest to anyone else out there. MEMORY WASHINGTON THORNTON born Nov 2, 1882, Blue Spring, Union Co., MS father; BILLY THORNTON mother; OLLIE McLAW (last part unclear) residence (1951); Phillips, MS employer; Mrs Julia Phelam (not clear), Memphis, TN I also noticed him on the WWI draft registration list as having registered from Tallahatchie, MS If this is of interest to anyone, let me know.
