A number of NC residents moved to Benton County in the mid 1800's because of the drought in the NC area and the subsequent effect on the farmers. The TN valley had peanuts. Several members of my family (Stier, Stiers) in NC moved to Benton along with some of their inlaws. However, there is little information on what they did in Benton and where they moved afterward. Specific names are Allen B. Stier, Norman Stier, Cornelius Stier, and Richard Jarrell. I have census data and some local history (Goodspeed). Does anyone have these folks in your histories?
