Robert Cates, Person Co., N.C. will of 1816 names granddau. Elizabeth. This Elizabeth CATES md. Charles Wilson, Person Co. or Grandville Co. N.C. they moved to Hickman Co. TN. where he d. ca. 1826. Elizabeth CATES WILSON, md. Richard CRAGG/CRAIG ca. 1826 there. Moved to Perry Co. TN. early 1840's. Richard d. Perry Co. TN. June 1850. (On mortality list for that year there). Their son Ervin Cragg and Sarah Horner's son Richard Cates Craig md. Laura Lucinda Owens Perry Co. TN. and moved to Benton Co. TN. 1890's. There were CATES families of this Elizabeth that came to or were already in Hichman and Williamson Cos. TN. when she and Charles Wilson came. Possibly all came at same time. I have NO further actual CATES info. Have you read the CATES writeup in one of Benton Co. Genealogy Quarterlies regarding the Marine CATES that Highway #641, thru Benton Co. is named for??
