Bob, In the 1850 census, the were two Sharp men living in Benton County. They appear to be brothers. In the town of Camden, house #3 in the home of W.C. Thompson there was an Anderson Sharp, 31 years old, born in ALA, and was clerk as occupation. In house # 23 in town of Camden, the was a John Sharp living in the home of C.K. Wyly, He was 27 yoa and was clerk as occupation and states he was born in ALA. In 1860 and 1870 census of Benton County, there were no Sharps living in Benton County. My daughter-in-law descends from the Sharps in Humphreys and Tipton County. You may want to search there. The DAR marriage book does not show any Sharp men as marring in Benton County. Hope this helps, Brenda Griffith At 10:54 PM 01/30/2000 EST, you wrote: >I am researching Sharp's that may have been living in Benton County, >Tennessee around 1850-1875.
