Hi Pat: My GEORGE line is as follows: Britton GEORGE (1792-1857) wife 1) Janie: Robert King GEORGE (1831-1904) & 2) wife Lucinda Caroline CAPLINGER (1844-1928). Ellen Drucilla GEORGE (1871-1951) & George Washington BEASLEY (1863-1952). Zotha BEASLEY (1899-1987) & Charles McMills WILSON (1898-1949). Me - Zotha Jean WILSON (1933- ) md George William STRINGHAM. I know some of my GEORGE line went to OK & TX, some MO - I don't have a Joseph G. GEORGE but I do have a Joseph I. GEORGE in this line. Britton GEORGE was born in Spartanburg, SC, md 1) Janie, had three children (that I know of), Marion, Cynthia Ann, & my Robert King GEORGE, bn near Vandalia, Fayette Co, Illinois, but Marion & Cynthia died very young, as did his wife Janie, (this in Illinois) so he then took Robert King down to TN and married again to a Martha 'Mattie or Matthew' COLLIER (1814 - aft 1859), had a family of 8 children by her: 1) William J. GEORGE (1838 -?) md Harriet ?; 2) David GEORGE (1840 TN - ?) also md a Harriet; 3) Mary Ann Francis GEORGE (1842 TN -?) may be the one who married 1 May 1864 Henry BARKER; 4) James GEORGE (1844 TN-?); 5) Martha Ann GEORGE (1847 TN - ?); 6) Andrew Jackson GEORGE (1850 TN -?); 7) Margarett GEORGE (1851 TN - ?); 8) John GEORGE (1855 TN - ?) md 30 Apr 1880 Elizabeth REED ; two children of my knowledge: Sadie & Andrew. Now about about Britton GEORGE. There was another, older Britton (or Brittain) GEORGE (abt 1762 Botetourt Co, VA - 1827 Humphreys Co, TN), who was married to Sarah NATIONS RIDEL (abt 1762 Catawba Nation, VA - abt 1850TN). his Britton is buried in the same burying ground as the younger Britton GEORGE, but I can establish no relationship between the two. here is a bible record of the children of the elder Britton, and it gives no Britton Jr. This Britton GEORGE was also known as 'Catawba GEORGE'. He fought in the Revolution under George Washington for seven years. In the bible record it lists these children for Britton George, Sr.: Jeremiah, Anthony, Polly, William Frank, Mary, Nancy, James, Joseph. The wife of Britton GEORGE Sr was Sarah or Sally NATIONS. She was half Cherokee & half Catawba, born on the Catawba reservation, as was Britton. She was a daughter of King HAGLER/HAGER. Here is what the Bible record of this family recorded: "Bible Record written by James William George, "Sarah Ridel was born in the Catawba Indian Nation in 1762 she was the daughter of King Hager, her mother was a Cherokee Indian, her sister was Mary Nations. After King Hager death the Boston Bess Family raised her until 6 years old. The Charles Ridel Family adopted her. She married Breton George on April 11, 1785. Date of Death was in the 1850's. Buried in George and Nations Cemetary in Missouri". So that is why she is Sarah (or Sally) NATIONS RIDEL. Now, I don't know , it maybe should read Sarah HAGER instead of NATIONS, I'm not sure how that was recorded. I do have a small amount of further information on these children, but the record is far from complete, and it still leaves me wondering who was Britton Jr's father and what is the connection between the two Brittons??? I have not done an extensive amount of research on these ancestors of Robert King George, but I do have a goodly amount of information on his descendants, if you are interested. Happy to share what I have, and ANY lead you may have on this family I would very happily welcome - it has been, and is, a real dilemma to me. Thanks for your response to the roll call..anything further I can help you with I would be happy to do so - let me know if you find a connection, ok? Jean Stringham

James, do you have any connections to Philemon Bradford? His daughter, Sarah, is my ancestor. Anne
I am interested in any information on John Jackson or his family . They were squatting on the land that became Camden TN. His wife was named Elizabeth. The first child born to them was Cassander Jackson around 1832. I have no maiden name for Elizabeth, no marriage date. John Jackson was a son of Able Jackson and Clarissa Thomlinson Jackson of Humphreys County. Able's father was Stephen Jackson a Rev. War. vet.married to Nancy Cook. His father was Benjamin Jackson married to Mary Rushing. So you see I am interested in Jackson, Thomlinson, Cook and Rushing and also Moss from the area in and near Benton Co. ------------------- Mary Russell bird@scrtc.com
