The U. S. Postal Service has never had a stamp promoting family history research, yet genealogy is America's most popular hobby. If you would like to see a stamp honoring genealogy, contact the U. S. Postal Service 476 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Room 4474B, Washington, DC 20260-6756 or e-mail them at: customer@email.usps.gov.
One more reason that grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents should instill these values in their children and pass down written and orally their family heritage. jp
The plans are moving along for the Danville Crossing Homecoming 2000 to be held at the Lodge at Paris Landing , June 22-24th , 2000. Rooms at the lodge are still available, and we need 4 more reservations there, to get one of the meeting rooms for free. They are comparable to the other accommodations in the area, and they are trying to book the Danville Crossing people in rooms in one area of the lodge. Single and double rooms are $64/night ( $60 for Friday). Reservations can be made at 1-800-250-8614. Anyone interested in genealogy and history in Western Tennessee is welcome, particularly the counties of Benton, Dickson, Henry, Houston, Humphreys, & Stewart. There will be a lot of fun and a banquet I will tell you about later, and cousins by the dozens doing research together in the libraries and courthouses of the area. It will be a chance to compare and share your information, make new friends and get reacquainted with old, and put faces with the people you have " met" online. Make your plans to come! Get the reservations in now. Cacky

Does anyone on the list have a will book with a listing of the surnames? I would like to order my ancestors wills, but until I know the Book and Page #'s, the clerk's office will not help me. My family is the Ruminer family. Thank you, Alberta Barry cabarry@concentric.net

In regard to the request for an obituary, the Tennessee Archives carries microfilm for many local Tennessee county newspapers. You might ask them to check the Camden paper for the obituary, giving them the name of the deceased person and the date of death. S.B. Knight

The local newspaper should have a copy of the obituary. I am not familiar with you local papers, but I found an obituary in our local paper for my great uncle who died in 1930's. Good luck.
