From: CackyCline@aol.com OK, folks, start making your plans for coming to the Danville Crossing Homecoming 2000! Make reservations for the lodging and start planing the fun. W are moving along daily with our end of the Homecoming. With that in mind, here is a little information I dug up on the days hours of operation of the various libraries. You will notice some are really strange, so you will need to know them in order to make the most of your time in the Danville Crossing area for research. Dear Folks: I just figured out that eight bundles of WFTs on sale cost almost $500. (which may be o.k. if you are employed or rich). Since disk one I have had two of my closest ancestor trees published - both wrong. My grandparents and great grandparents lived in Benton and Henry Counties. In 1992 I researched in these counties for everything I could find. I started researching before that in Dallas. Sometimes I wonder how it is that I can find no really new information from these trees in FTW but all the material that I willingly share appears with some additions and changes. WFT 38 no. 11 is not correct. My great grandfather is Benjamin Franklin Akers. My great great grandfather is Benjamin Franklin Akers. Some information I can not find that is why I have not sent this to WFT. My information can be found on the GenWeb Benton Co. TN page. I intend to publish this family where ever I can because it is difficult to correct everyone who will see this for years and years to come. I am sure of my information because my great grandmother said so on her husband's death certificate. His brother said so on his father's death certificate. We all know that censuses are not correct. Do you know that "son" can be a term of endearment for "like a son."? Phoebe McDaniel is not the mother of B.F. Akers Jr. To the next family - Thomas Sidney Hall is my geat grandfather and he was married to Mary Darcus Atchison. He was not married to Theda Rainwaters. To the next family - Mary Darcus Atchison's parents were Margaret Ann Monroe and Adam Atchison. Thank you for your time. I guess we can not believe what we read. Jeanette P.
As you know the Danville Crossing Reunion, encompassing your area is coming up. That reunion is a big plus in terms of making contacts, but it also is a good way to find new resource material. We will be in touch with all of the major publishers that have books on this area, but we do NOT want to miss any of those folks out there who have written and published books on their own. PLEASE if you are one of these authors, or if you know of them, have them get in touch soon at TCHOSKI@aol.com We do NOT accept any commission from sales of books, and this is simply a good way for them to sell their books at the same time researchers are able to find materials all in one place at one time. In other words, just a super opportunity for both researchers and authors. Timothy C. Hoskins Free Leonard Peltier !!!!!!!!!!! I received a zero copy yesterday of a Gossett Family re-union held in either 1900 or 1901 in the Caney Fork area. The descendants of this family married into the above families (except Maddox who was shown in photo and named as a pastor at a nearby church). If anyone is doing research on these families, I'd be glad to answer any questions or provide a copy of this photo. Glenda
I am looking for any of the Hollimans that were in Benton County Tx 1840/1850..thanks margie hartman
Jan, you say things so beautifully. You made me cry! And THIS is why we have to pull it together and make in an annual thing, so it will be something for our grandkids to sit together and remember how their Nanas and " Aunt Cher" help start it all! Cacky

Gabbie: I have talked to Dick Spencer the volunteer from the Williamson Archives and he will meet you at the Archives at what ever time you get there. I will be late as I have 2 meetings that day, Hopefully the last one will be over by about 3PM.. Let me know you ETA and will give you directions and set it up with Dick. Ira
Gabbie: Yes, I am sure, as known history makes it like I sent to you, Lemuel (1) Bell was the father of George (5) Bell, whose mother lived in Stewart County until her Husband Lemuel died then she went to Benton County to live with son George (5). No 5 was also a brother to my Great Great Grandfather Benjamin (2) Bell who was the father of Lemuel Alsbrooks Bell, my great Grandfather. Now as to George Washington Bell, He was the son of John (4) Bell and Hannah, they and their 12 children never left Houston, Stewart and Trigg County Ky. Just as information George Washington and Hannah Brown Bell, had John Bell No 6 born 1849 in Stewart County.
