    1. Sarah Ann RUSHING & William ARMER
    2. Quiet list lately. Maybe this query from another list will get some response - sure hope so. Donna wrote and asked me to do a lookup in the Benton County Book for Sarah Ann RUSHING (1822-1893) who md 1845 Benton County to William ARMER (1818-1888) s/o Oliver ARMER & Nancy MARTIN. She has some hand-written notes which say Sarah Ann's parents are William Robert RUSHING and Elizabeth WARD. Now here's the catch - the Benton County Book says her parents are Abel RUSHING and Sarah Jane HERRING. Can anyone clear this up for us, please? Jean S.

    1. John Jackson
    2. Mary Russell
    3. First let me say that Rootsweb is finished with their housecleaning and they are back up and running. Second-- I need almost any information on John Jackson. It was John that was sitting on the land that became Camden. Did he stay there ? Did he move back to his daddy Able Jackson in Humphreys County? Was there more than One John Jackson? John is the weakest point of my genealogy. Mary Harkey Russell bird@scrtc.com

    3. Starting at 8 a.m. PST Friday, February 23, RootsWeb will begin a planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as possible, and will return with increased performance and reliability for future growth. You may want to hold off posting until they start back up. Probably not more than 12 to 24 hours . Mary Harkey Russell bird@scrtc.com

    1. LONG LOST WATTS
    2. Mickey Watts
    3. For years I searched for ANDERSON WATTS without much success. Finally that door opened, providing more highways to be traveled...Parents turned out to be LEVI WATTS 1812 with spouse ELIZABETH 1808.. Haven't had much luck chasing them so I'm backing up to the siblings of the original illusive Anderson. Older sister MARY 1834/35, brother CALVIN LEANDER 1836/37 ( those of you aware of Tanya Lynn's search will recognize him), younger brothers MORGAN 1842/43, OLIVER 1844/45, JOSEPH 1847/48, and DAVID 1849/50. Anyone having access to EARLY GEORGIA MARRIAGES I hear OLIVER is there maybe others. At this point I'm chasing every possible lead. If you are researching any of the above WATTS clan please holler at me and let's compare notes.

    2. Ron Hanson
    3. Sorry for resending this - I forgot to add the subject line. So much for being anxious and a newbie to this! I am sending this message in the hopes that someone, somewhere might have some additional information on my grandfather and father. My biological grandfather and father came from Tennessee. I have little information on the Tennessee roots. My father's name was James; he had a brother Clarence and a sister Alta. Based on newspaper information, Clarence and James "grew up in the eastern part of Jasper County (Indiana) and were well known about Francesville and Medaryville." "They were born in Tennessee, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Herndon. The family, including the two sons and a daughter, moved to Jasper county when the children were small. The mother died and the two sons were taken in to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Yeppe Hansen (Martha Hunter),living west of Francesville." The boys went to high school in Rensselaer, and graduated in 1923 and 1924. James was born in 1905, Alta was born in 1907 and Clarence was born in 1903. The girl, Alta, was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Rathfon of Medaryville and she later married Paul Sheets and lived in Chicago. Clarence was married to Iris Comer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Comer of Rensselaer. Clarence and my dad were in a private plane crash in Lake County, near Schererville, in August, 1931. They were on their way to their farm in Fulton County. Clarence was killed, my dad seriously injured. Martha F. (Hunter)Hansen died April 9, 1963, at Ruff Nursing Home in Knox, Indiana. Yeppe Hansen, her husband, died August 30, 1930. They had a farm in Gillam Township. Mrs. Hansen was born August 6, 1869 at Danvers, Illinois to James and Esther Jane (Cowan) Hunter, at Danvers, Illinois. She married Yeppe Hansen on December 21, 1893 at Gibson City, Illinois. I am trying to trace my Tennessee connection and am having trouble finding my biological family roots in Tennessee, through my Herndon line. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 3. Rootsweb has security. No virus can come through a Rootsweb list. Therefore it is a private problem. Since the person is unaware that their infected computer is sending out copies of a virus to everyone in their address book, it would do no good to report a specific person. I run 16 genealogy lists and have been doing it for 10 years and I have never received a copy of any virus or worm. I have heard of people who have received Snow white over 50 times. Apparently none of my friends are infected. I guess the only thing to be done about this virus or worm is to have a good virus checker in your machine and delete any attachments you get . 1. [TNBENTON] Herndons, Brewers,, Alsups, & Floyds
    2. Brenda Boyt
    3. Hi, I'm new to the list. My ancestors of Benton County are the Herndon, Brewer, Alsup, and Floyd lines. More specificly, John Herndon (b. 1812) who married Matilda Brewer (b. 1822) Lewis Wiggins Brewer (b. 1784) who married Mary Alsup (1790) Thomas Lee Floyd (b. about 1810) who married Analiza Brewer (b. 1811) I haven't really done anything on the Alsup line yet, but I'm sure Mary Alsup is somehow connected to the Alsups in Benton County. I'd love to correspond with others interested in these lines to share and/or swap information with. I'd especially be interested in any information on John Herndon and Thomas Lee Floyd since I can't seem to get any farther than them. I'm always willing to share whatever I have! 3. I am wondering if you have any information on William H. Cooper, of Carroll and Weakley Co., TN area, who married Nancy Louisa Reece, 31 Dec 1876, in Carroll Co., TN? For the exact same date, it is possible that her niece married Williams nephew, William N. Cooper; to Lucresa Elizabeth Reece. I am not sure if these dates are correct; however, the names supposedly are. Nancy Louisa Reece was a younger sister of my great-great-grandfather, Alfred Paley "Baker" Reece. If you know anything about these folks, please let me know. Thanks!
