With regard to a nickname for Frances, the typical nickname, documented through several generations of my family, is Fanny. It fell out of favor in the early part of this century. In fact, I knew a woman who was a neighbor of my grandmother who was Fanny. Her actual name was Frances and she was in her 70's when I knew her in 1950. I have just completed writing out the family history of the above-referenced names. The counties in TN include Henry, Benton, Montgomery, Stewart, and Carroll, that I know of.
