My GreatGrandfather was the eldest child of Greenberry (Green B.) and Nancy Elizabeth Crick and I have found his name listed in various ways. I finally settled on James George 'Jim' Mangum because my Father listed him as Jim Mangum on my Grandmother's Death Certificate. I have (10) children for Green B Mangum and Nancy Elizabeth Crick. First four are same as yours, James George, Willie Thomas, William J., Susan C, with the addition of Elizabeth A 'Lizzie', Einnus (Minus?) S, Joseph Christopher, Amanda J, Martha C, and Pauline Evergreen. I haven't been able to tie-in Rebeckah Jane Mangrum b.1823/1826 in NC (married to James G Crick) to my Mangum/Mangrums; but, I like the idea that she could be a sister to Green B. b.abt 1817 in TN (?) In 9/9/2005, Richard A.Crick Jr. of Birmingham,AL (a descendant of John G. Crick) sent me an email stating the estate records of John G Crick were taken care of by his brother-in-law Kinion Carlton who was married to Francis Crick, (sister of John G and James G) and also by Green B Mangum. Green and Kinion were co-administrators. He also stated that James G. Mangum was summoned to testify at one point in Frankllin Co TN records. I don't have copies of the estate records mentioned; but, it does seem to tie in with your reference to Green B being a grantee on a deed with Kinion Carlton and and John G Crick. At this point, I think we might be "double" cousins?? on the Mangum/Mangrum and Crick lines. Do you have any more goodies? Thanks, LaVerne Teresa Elliott <Cheasa@bellsouth.net> wrote: I have Green B. Mangrum who married Nancy E. Unknown, pretty sure this could be your Greenberry. If it is, then my husband's line just quit branching. <G> The children I have are George J., Willie T., William J. and Susan C. Our line is George Crick and Sally Glass. Green B. was a grantee on a deed with Kinion Carlton (my line) and John G. Creek, (Jeff's). I haven't worked on this line much. Jeff's line is Rebeckah Mangrum who married James G. Crick. I think she could be a sister (daughter?) to Green B. Mangrum. My Grandmother is Sarah "Sallie" Lucinda Mangum. She is daughter of James George Mangum and Rebecca Catherine Riddle. Her grandparents were Greenberry Mangum and Nancy Elizabeth Crick. We cannot go back any farther with Greenberry Mangum; but Nancy Elizabeth Crick is daughter of George Washington Crick, b. 1792 in Newbury Co, SC, and Sarah "Sally" Glass, b.1786, VA, d. 1860/1862, Franklin Co, TN. My grandmother "Sallie" Mangum was b.3/22/1870, in Tullahoma, Franklin Co, TN, died 5/21/1951 in our home of Wichita Falls TX. Her first husband was George F Haynes, b.12/25/1867, near Hurricane, Franklin Co, TN, d.9/16/1898, in Ellis Co, TX. She married my Grandfather William Howell Holley on May 5, 1901, in Waxahatchie, Ellis Co, TX You can better see our family on Andaleen Mangum Whitney's website at http://www.mangumwhitney.com/index.html Look under Mangum Andaleen for Andaleen's paternal family. We need so much more - especially on the Mangum ancestor's; so, if you can provide anything or if we can help you in any way, please let me know.
