Thanks for the extra information! William and Cynthia are my ggg...grandparents. I didnt know he had a brother that died here in Nashville. But, there were ultimately 3 Newcombs. If you (Terrie) go to Heritage Quest and do a search for Theophilus Thompson in the publications, the Bedford County Historical Society published an eleven page paper about the family and it explains a little more about the various Newcombs. If I am reading it correctly, Terrie's Newcomb is the grandson of Theophilus. I hope I am not confusing anyone..I had to read it several times to get it straight myself.
