Nowlin's parents were John Thomas (or Thomas John) Nowlin and Margaret E. Moore. Margaret's father Jacob Washington Moore was my g-g-grandfather. I am working on a theory that Tom Nowlin's parents were James Nowlin and Elizabeth Tillman. A Thomas Nowlin born about 1835-1838 is in Bedford County censuses in 1850 and 1870 with his mother Elizabeth. I think James Nowlin was a son of Brian/Bryan Ward Nowlin. That would make your Jabus S. I am a Henry BIBB (1780-1872) descendant. Henry was son of James BIBB (1747 VA-1809 TN) and Sarah NOWLIN. One of Henry's brothers was Rev James BIBB who married Sarah ALFORD. Another of Henry's brothers was Bryant Ward BIBB which leads me to ask if this is the NOWLIN family you are researching. Is it ?
