Hi Rita, I am a NORTON researcher and live in Manchester, about 15 minutes from Beech Groove. My NORTONs were in thick with several of your families, and Norton's Branch is just to the north over the ridge from McBride's Branch. Several of my NORTONs married JACOBS and RAYBURNs. I am not sure, but I believe I've seen suggestions that one of my NORTONs also married a SORREL, Mary SORREL, I think it was, but I've seen nothing on this for sure. I'm interested in whether or not we connect. I cannot answer your question, but I remember a DeSHEILDs researcher posting at least one query on the Coffee County, TN, homepage, and I recall it being pretty informative. Hope this is of some help!
