I'm new to this list and hoping someone familiar with the county can help in finding a record on the following marriage that took place about June 1897: Allen Houston Russ and Cleo Johnson Cleo, I've been told, was adopted by the Johnson family. Her obit said she was a native of Murfreesboro. I believe she was full-blooded or half Cherokee Indian. Allen may be listed as Albert, Alvin R., or Allie Russ. I've found him listed with these names from the 1880-1930 census, city directories, etc. He was from Bedford County, Shelbyville. Any help, suggestions, and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I'm working feverishly on a Golden Anniversary project for my parents. I'd like to get this information along with birth dates and their parents data as well, eventually. MANY THANKS!
