Bedford County, TN marriage records for 1897 are intact and have been transcribed and published by Mr. and Mrs. Tim Marsh. The Russ/Johnson marriage is not included. You might try Wayne Co, TN as Russ is a well-known name there and you are more likely to find an Indian presence there than in Bedford County. Russ and Cleo Johnson Cleo, I've been told, was adopted by the Johnson family. I believe she was full-blooded Cherokee Indian. Allen may be listed as Albert, Alvin R., or Allie Russ. I've found him listed with these names from the 1880-1930 census, city directories, etc. Any help, suggestions, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm working feverishly on a Golden Anniversary project for my parents. I'd like to get this information along with birth dates and their parents data as well, eventually. THANKS!
