Blanks. Martin Shofner was the son of Michael Shofner and Margaretha Fogleman and one of six children. Martin Shofner and his wife, probably Catherine Cook, were the parents of at least ten children. Information in this book regarding Samuel Dean apparently came from descendants of John Allen Dean. There is also a bok called A Genealogy of the Brockman and Dean Families written by Henry William Clark in 1905. I know this is the same family and it goes back to South Carolina, but I cannot find the connection to your Deans in the book.
