Pam, Before 1836 Bedford County and Mary county shared a common border. In 1836 about equal slices were taken from Bedford and Maury to form Marshall (plus some from Lincoln and eventually some from Giles). I don't think any part of Bedford was ever Maury or any part of Maury was ever Bedford. IF it was, it had to be before 1836. There is not any research center other than the State Archives. There are individuals who do research. Carolyn In a message dated 5/3/02 8:53:51 AM, BEAR4709@aol.com writes: << Carolyn, I'm ready to tackle my Tennessee Research again. I've gotten discouraged many times due to most of the records being burned across the state. But I'm ready to go again :) My ancestors were in Maury County area prior to 1836 and then I beleave Maury County turned into Marshall County and then into Bedford County as well! ugh...so confusing..... Do these three counties (or one) have a center where research is done and sold to you? Like a library or historical center? If so, would you share the info? Thanks Carolyn! Pam Tillman-Goff
