Is anyone working on the Harris and Sanders lines in Bedford County, TN? Jan K
Jan, I believe my Minor WILKES (b. Bet. 1794 - 1804, d. 1849) was married to a Susannah HARRIS (b. abt. 1800, d. after 1850) in Bedford Co. In a deed of gift, dated 3 Feb 1844, a Newton C. HARRIS deed personal property to the children (his nieces and nephews) of Minor and Susannah. I've also found that in 1841 Mosby HARRIS gave 100 acres to Newton C. HARRIS with the provision Newton C. was to care for Mosby the rest of his life. I'm guessing that Susannah and Newton were brothers and that Mosby, who was on the 1814 Bedford Co. tax list (100 acres on Wartrace Fork), was the father of Susannah and Newton. Does this tie into your Harris line in any way? Would certainly like to be able to confirm my guesses. Would appreciate any information you might be able to give me.
