Shelbyville Gazette - July 28, 1932 - page 1 Horrible Wreck On Dixie Highway Near City Limits Brice Riddle and Sam McLaughlin Met Death in Auto Accident Last Friday Afternoon Two men were killed and two others seriously injured at about 5 o'clock Friday afternoon when their car turned over on a curve near Skull Camp bridge, about a mile south of here in highway 16. The dead are Brice Riddle, 24, who was instantly killed, and Sam McLaughlin, 45, who died enroute to the Bedford County Hospital. Charles Henry, 35, and George Owen, 50, negro, were seriously cut and bruised but it is believed will recover. All four men resided in Shelbyville. The accident occurred while the car was rounding the curve at a high rate of speed, it is said. The car turned over several times and was demolished. Pete Nelson, proprietor of a filling station, saw the accident it is said, and was first to reach the scene of the accident. The victims of the accident were all badly cut and bruised. Mr. Henry, unconscious wen placed in the ambulance, regained consciousness shortly after reaching his home. Owen, also dazed in the crash, regained consciousness. _____________________ Shelbyville Gazette - May 19, 1932 - page 8 Funeral and Burial of Brice Riddle At Raus Funeral services for Brice Riddle were held at the residence of his brother, Glenn Riddle at Raus, Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Charles Armstring, assisted by Rev. Casey. Interment was in the Bomar graveyard. Brice Riddle was a popular young man, who numbered his friends by his acquaintances, and his sudden death caused widespread sorrow here.
