Can you tell me where the surname 'Silver' comes from? Also, I have William's parents as Claiborne Reed and Sarah Jane Patterson. I don't think Robert and Andrew (William's known children) were born in Bedford County. They were both born about 1794, and Tennessee wasn't a state until 1796. I think they were probably born in VA or NC, but have no other information. Robert married an Elizabeth, but not Gentry. Andrew married twice: Elizabeth (Betsy) Lane and second, Malinda Coats. I would love to compare information on the Reed and Coats families.
