Carolyn, I found this petition at genealogy.com at a site titled "Early TN Settlers 1700's-1900's". It is from the State and County Archives, titled "Legislative Papers and Petitions" (pg. 141). Thanks for the info on William Ferguson, 1812 tax list. I'll check him out! Sherri
