Hi List, New here but not to genealogy. I recently found that my husband 2nd great grandfather Jesse Daughtery (Daugherty, Daughtrey, Daughtry etc) was born in Bedford about 1840, His father is Samuel b, abt 1808 TN mother Elizabeth b. abt 1808 NC. Samuel is listed in Bedford as Head, in the 1830 and 1840 census, then the family moved to Shelby County TN and by 1860 in Paducah, McCracken Co. KY. Samuel's first born William was born about 1830. I am trying to find out a number of things. First Samuel and Elizabeth got married most likely in Bedford around 1830, is there any records for this still available as I would like to find the marriage record and her last name. Next there is a Tyler Daughtrey (b. bet 1760-1770) listed in 1820 and 1830 there and then in 1840 he is listed in Coffee County. I have no death for him but he does not appear in the 1850 census anywhere that I can find. I have the film numbers for the FHL films on Probate and wills in Coffee, but that could be time consuming without knowing his death nor the county he died in. I think the will would be the only way for sure to connect Tyler as the father of Samuel, but not sure. I am open to other suggestions. There is also a Benjamin in 1830 and 1840 appearing the age to be an older brother of Samuel, Also in 1820 a Robert born bet 1775-1794 (as he is in the 1 Male 26-45 Years old range) but is not listed after 1820 anywhere that I have searched yet. I am hoping someone knows about this family and/or has some research avenues for me. This is the only line in both sides of our family that was in the US this early. Everyone else didn't come over until 1870+ I am excited! Thanks Laurie Hendrickson
