    2. Hi, I am also interested in early records. My people, KINNEIR, now CANEER, COOK, SHAW, RAINEY, > were in Marshall County in the early 1800's They lived in the section of Lincoln County that was later put into Marshall Co. If anyone has an idea, please let me know. I am especially interested in internet sources since now it is very difficult for me to get home to do research. Thanks, Patricia Caneer Gardner. > From: "Lee Anne Center" <[email protected]> > Date: 2005/08/24 Wed PM 07:27:13 EDT > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [TNBEDFOR] Marriage Records c.1830 > > > > Thank you for letting us know. 3. I found some Rainey's listed in the Lincoln Co., TN Official Marriage Records 1838-1880 by Marsh. 3. Patricia: I looked through the old minutes of The Cane Creek Church of Christ and did not see any of the names below listed. The Marshall County Cemetery book has many listings of CANEER, COOK, SHAW and RAINEY. It seems though that they are not in the area that you are describing except the SHAW name. The SHAW family was around the Belfast / Liberty Valley area and north of there on up to Farmington / Palmetto area. The rest of the names that you mention are more in the Cornersville, Wilson Hill and Mooresville area. I have a connection to the COOK family. My 4th great grandfather Henry BAGLEY married Elizabeth COOK. They were originally in Sussex Co. VA. then settled in Chatham Co. NC. Their son Joab BAGLEY settled in Marshall Co. [originally Lincoln Co.] in the Talley Station area around 1807. In this area there were many families that settled here from Chatham Co. NC..This is in the area that you have described in your post. I hope this is of help to you.
