Hello Everyone: It is so nice to see such an increased activity to this group as well as to see some new folks joining the group. Since there are some new folks that may not know of some important websites containing Bedford County information, I wanted to repeat some of this information here: Bedford County Surnames Resource or, if the above hyperlink does not work, copy this URL into your browser line http://www.tngenweb.org/bedford/surname.htm The above site (you will need to scroll to about 1/4 of the way down the page) lists almost 1200 Bedford Co. surnames and/or their researchers. The site has the surname, the email address of people researching the surname, and in some cases, has a link to their family web pages. Migration Project or, http://www.migrations.org/ Once you have selected "Tennessee" and "Bedford County" (under the county search box), you will find, I believe, listings of 80 Bedford Co. surnames and their migration information. This is a great site for anyone trying to figure out where people moved from/to. If you have not contributed to this site, it is certainly worthwhile and important. Just think of all the relatives that you may have (or have had in the past) that are "missing in action". Bedford County, TN Resources or, cut and paste: http://home.flash.net/~coley/bedford_index.html Lila Coley maintains this site and it is wonderful. It contains a multitude of information such as bible, census, church and other information on Bedford County. Lila also has some great links to other websites of interest. Marty's Bedford County Page or: http://www.tngenweb.org/rutherford/marthagail2.htm This is actually part of the Rutherford County webpage. But, thanks to Marty, there are several items of interest to Bedford County, namely Loose Wills and Shelbyville Gazette obits (1931-1935). These are just a few of some websites that might be of interest to some of you. Thanks to such a great group of people, Lucy Dunaway Zeier Minden, Nevada (researching Bedford Co. surnames of: Chambers, Crutcher, Dixon, Dunaway, Galbreath, Gordon, Hall, King, McKamey, Rice, and Sharp)
