HI Lisa, I am NOT showing an Ed Fletcher in the 1870 census in Bedford County. There are only two families Leander Fletcher age 26 male colored he does not have a child Ed (page 196/A) Grundy Fletcher age 55 male white(although the actual census looks more like lsuidz Fletcher (born TN), Ann age 48 (born VA). There was also a Wm J. age 32, Mary G age 22, Ellen M age 20, Charley age 11, and Daisy age 6 living in this household in Ward 6 of Shelbyville page 257/A There are 196 Fletchers in TN in 1870. I have a head of household list, but do not have the other census records for the counties. I do NOT show a marriage license for an Ed Fletcher in Rutherford or Bedford County during the 1870 to 1880 time frame. There are more Fletchers in Coffee Co, and in Rutherford County. I am not finding the name Wyninger in my data base at all, but then that is such a different spelt name.. the census taker could of spelled it anyway.. Winnager _______________ I show an A.J. Anderson married Miss Eliza E. Hamilton in Rutherford County on Oct 10, 1877. There are 11 (Male) Anderson marriages between 1873 and 1881 in Rutherford County alone. I did not find an A.J. Anderson in Bedford that would fit the time frame, and that had a wife named Elizabeth. This above was the closest match. On Anderson there are 27 head of households in Bedford County in 1870. I did not look up the Colored Race on the census... You did not specify it. My best guess is A.J. is Andrew J. age 14 and living with George Anderson and Mary C. Anderson. He could be a son of George although the 1870 census record does not specify relationships to the head of households. I would suspect George was married more than one time. A George M (could be W.) Anderson married a Mary C. Alexander Feb 15, 1868 in Bedford County.
