The forename "Temperance" may indicate that your ancestor was a Quaker or of Quaker ancestry. That could be an important clue. The Quakers have great records- births, deaths, marriages, etc. They even kept records of those folks that they de-fellowshipped. That was usually because a member married outside of the faith.
