I want to know something about the 23rd district of Bedford CO. I have information that my grandfather's grandparents were married in Rutherford CO TN 1809. One of their sons is married in 1840 in Bedford CO and settles in the 23rd district at Flat Creek. Was this land ever in Rutherford Co? As always I am searching for any information about the Coleman, Byrd, Anderson and Southall families. ~~AM~~

Was your BYRD ever spelled BIRD? I have a Bird that I know little about except I believe he was a teacher because the letter referred to here http://home.flash.net/~coley/bird.html speaks about teaching. I don't know if Fairfield is in the 23rd district but I don't think it is. Maybe someone else knows for sure. People can buy a very large copy of the Beers map, I think it is about 3 ft by 4 ft. One of Bedford websites has a link to the man selling it. Pat
