Marsh, Shelbyville, Tennessee Published 1996, Southern Historical Press, Inc. =============================================== Page 125 Bedford County Chancery Court Minutes, Page 215 James W. Head & others vs. Jesse P. Tucker & others James W. Head, Charlotte Head and Littleton Averett and wife Sarah. The two former are of Bedford County, Tennessee, the two latter of Rutherford County, Tennessee, files against Jesse P. Tucker and wife Elizabeth, Isreal Harris and wife Martha, and John A. Head, all of Bedford County, Tennessee, except John A. Head of Giles County, Tennessee. Orators stated that Enoch Head departed this life intestate in January last, died seized of land in the 8th District of Bedford County, where he lived at the time of his death. Charlotte is the widow and James W. Head and Sarah Averett who has intermarried with Litteton Averett, John A. Head, Elizabeth Tucker wife of Jesse P. Tucker, Martha Harris wife of Isreal Harris, and Mary Head, are the only children and heirs of Enoch Head. Also, that since the death of Enoch Head, Mary Head has departed this life having first made and published her Last Will and Testament, which was proven in Bedford County. (Date between 1840-1848). Page 129 Chancery Court Minutes, 1840-1848, Page 215 Will of Mary Head, deceased. Her deceased father was Enoch Head who had died intestate in January 18__ and Enoch Head's widow is Charlotte Heard. Children of Enoch Head: James W. Head, Sarah who has intermarried with Littleton Averett, John A. Head, Elizabeth Tucker wife of Jesse P. Tucker, Martha Harris wife of Isreal Harris, and Mary Head. Page 142 Chancery Court Minutes, 1846-1853, Page 580 Joseph P. Thompson & Others Exparte petition to sell slaves & land - 16 March 1854 Robert Allison departed this life on 24 day of May 1842, having made his Last Will and Testament, willed to Prudence Thompson and her children a child's part of the estate. Prudence Thompson has since departed this life and that Joseph P. Thompson was appointed administrator. She left children: Harriet M. Thompson who has intermarried with Enoch Head, Robert C. Thompson, Mary E. Thompson, and Sarah Ann Thompson.
