Shelbyville Gazette, Aug 3, 2001 Funeral services for Byron Wayne Cartwright age 88, of Shelbyville, who died this morning at Bedford County Medical Center, will be at 1;30 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Rev. William Cartwright and the Rev. Jon Bell will officiate and burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. A native of Bedford County, he was the husband of the late Gladys Ann Wade Cartwright an dthe son of the late Jacob Thomas and Martha Jane Damron Cartwright. He served three years as a city building inspector, two and a half years as a city manager and two years as a mayor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Ann Cartwright Whiteside of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Ellen Love Warren of Knoxville; two grandchildrena nd one gerat-grandchild.
