Virginia, In 2002, you found the following info for me. I was looking for my Gobble connection to the Cobb family. "Alexander Hall to Mary Gobble, Dec 20, 1858. Bond. - Alexander Hall and W.M. Smith. Ceremony by A. Caraway, J.P., Dec 29, 1858. (The first date is the date of the license; the second date is the marriage date.)" This was in Obion Co., Tn. Everett Alan Gobble and his family including his wife, Jane Merrell, daughters Mary and Martha were in Lincoln Co census in 1850. The 1860 Obion Co census found Everett and wife Jane and W.A. Cobb and wife Martha and Alexander Hall and wife Mary all living in adjacent households. By 1870, Everett and wife Jane were in Wayne Co. Tn. Martha Cobb was living with them and the whereabouts of W.A. Cobb is unknown to me. I suspect he was a victim of the recent war. Thanks.
