I found in a book called "Confderate Heroines" pages 85-87 by Thomas Lowery a story about George and Minerva Ballard(married name) of Bugscuffle TN. She was tried for treason and to quote the book"The court found that ' Minerva Ballard is guilty of treason and is in sympathy with Jeff Davis and the Southern conspiracy. this is on page 86. -- Proud member of IBSSG
