I think I would have been awed by mountains, too. Imagine having to walk up and down them with the brush so thick that it was almost impossible to get through - even on Indian paths. Also, when we traveled to Niagara Falls we could hear the roar of the falls long before we could see them, and I have often thought about how frightening that must have been for pioneers who had no way of knowing what was causing that awesome noise. However, I'm sure that someday people will look back at us and be awed by the miles we had to cross at such slow speeds to get from one place to another. Isn't that a funny thought? Thanks for the info on the ferries. Shirley
