John died abt. April 1818, probably six miles south of Shelbyville, Bedford County, on his father's farm I believe he was about 33 yrs. old. He was my ggg grandfather. I've been trying to find an 1810 census to see if he was in that. His father, Daniel McKisick, also died in 1818, and the family then moved to Benton County, AR. John was a cattle buyer for the family. This McKisick family was strongly associated with Rice F. and Sarah Ross and the McMichaels of Coffee County, TN as well as the John/William Patton family of Davidson and Bedford Counties. B. MacKie >> There is short references to both McKisick and McKissick families in the book; Bedford County Wills and Vitals Records from Newspapers, by Marsh. Only the names Daniel, married to Polly Greer, Eliza R. married to Dr. R Dean and a Col.James McKissick. Rice F. Ross is also mentioned. Are these McKissick/Mckisick of any interest to you? B. Thank you for responding! I have those particular records you mentioned. I am primarily interested in finding John McKisick's death place and a record thereof. He seems to be the most elusive of the family. I found him in the TN War of 1812 lists of volunteers. He supposedly died in April of 1818, but I haven't been able to prove it yet. Thanks again...
