    3. Hello Bedford List; This may not seem like genealogy but it may help me find my g-grandpa who was born in Bedford County in 1859. His name was Zephaniah Polk Weaver. In about 1875 he went to work for the Rail Road, and probably there in Bedford County. He would have been about 16 years old at the time. I believe he became a Road Construction Engineer and may have worked for the Rail Road from about 1875 up to about 1920. My question is this; does anyone in Bedford, or anywhere else for that matter, have information on the Rail Road and/or its employees covering any part of the period from about 1875 to about 1920? Second question; Where can I find searchable Rail Road Pension Records and/or other employee records that might help me prove this? Thanks a lot. Don Weaver [email protected]

    3. Don, I don't know anything about the Bedford railroad, but my grandfather worked for Southern Railroad in north Alabama from about 1890 to 1935 and my aunt has a book which was published by the railroad honoring long time employees.
